HOPE (the scholarship) left me at the altar when I hit 150 hours or so...

There is a very good chance I will have to change plans and do a Math/Acct double major, and abandon the preferred plan A option of Math BS and Acct MBA. I can't afford to waste time and spend 2 years finishing a math degree when I need to work, and something came up that will very likely completely screw up plan A.

Anyway. That's neither here nor there. What I'm wondering is whether Pell will tolerate the many, many hours a double major would take? If Pell does, SMART might, too. And that would be the lemonade I can make from the lemons of stupid flipping bureaucracy...

eta: ok, yahoo answers had a good answer, with a link. can't be more than 150% of hours expected to complete a program. Still can't find info on whether double majors are acceptable, but it's a start.

my advice... get whatever degree you can complete in the shortest amount of time for undergrad... if you are serious about your master's.

At my school, it's 180 credit hours. Our programs average 120 hours, so federal financial aid can extend only to 180 credit hours, regardless of the credits required for a particular student's chosen major.

Yes, I'm a wealth of rather trivial information gained by being on a few too many committees.

It is 180 hours at my school too... I think that is pretty standard for a semester based college
