Well, hard to believe but my fall classes are almost over!
:woohoo:
I am worried about my algebra exam this week and I have a ton of
work to do in my other classes but this semester is almost over.
I have already signed up for spring classes.
How is everyone doing?

Ugh, I'm still swamped. I'm knee deep in a collaborative project (I hate group projects -- even more when it's all web-based!), two large papers still ahead, and two exams. I'll be done mid-December. I have such a bad attitude, I'm totally in "get it over with" mode, but that's pretty much been how this "going back for my degree" phase has been. Hopefully grad school will be more interesting and rewarding?! *crossing fingers*

Finished a class today!!! Submitted my final paper for it and did my course evaluation. Done, done, done and I don't have the final grade, but should be an A.
Next to do on my list is to finish my huge marketing paper.

Okay, finished my modern lit. paper (which had slipped my mind LOL) and submitted last night! Will take the final in a few days...it's online. I am averaging an A so unless I super-bombed it or bomb the final, I should be OK.
Did my comm final tonight and with the multiple choice parts graded, I have an A...so assuming I get a decent enough grade on the written part, I should get an A.
Can't wait to take that last final and be DONE for this term. I am just waiting for a quiet opportunity. I have till the 5th. ;)
And I just signed up for spring...intro to creative writing and modern cinemaIt was hard to narrow it down to 2 classes but I know I can't handle any more than that. Still deciding whether or not to take anything during summer. I don't need to for FA and I'm not sure if I will need a break or not!

Whoa, Sarah.
I was whining about having to work ovetime last week and my huge
homework pile.
I am bowing down to you!
Christine, I used to love school but now I am kind of "GOD! THIS SHOULD
HAVE BEEN DONE ALREADY!"

Ugh. I have a 5 page paper and accompanying Powerpoint presentation due by the 12th (earlier to allow for technical errors since it's turned in via email attachments) and my final in algebra due the somethingth. I haven't taken test 5 in algebra yet so I am focusing on that and the paper/powerpoint, then I'll worry about the final.
It doesn't look so bad on paper but I have my usual obligations at the kids' school, carpool, etc... . Right now I have a child home sick with strep throat and just started feeling a bit UH OH myself. You know, that little tickle in your throat and throb in your head. Yeah, if I get sick I'm screwed, lol. We're leaving for Denver in less than 3 weeks and I'd set myself a goal to have the house clean BEFORE we left so we can come home to a clean house. I'm not so sure that's going ot happen. I really want it to though. We also have a leak under our kitchen sink, a short in the light switch in the bathroom, all 4 smoke detectors without batteries (hey, I wonder if the fire department could give me some) and I have GOT to get to the food pantry. We have a huge make-up house payment to make that will barely clear much less leave room for groceries and such. Stress abounds. It's so hard to focus on school when there is so much life going on around me.

Last stretch here.
Had my lab final today (it kicked my butt) , class final is on Wednesday. I am sure it's going to be just as bad or even worse.
All of us (students) are struggling something awful. Although it is to be expected - it's the last class in Inorganic Chemistry series, so our proff is not messing around.
I wonder if Organic Chemistry is going to be as bad...

Ok, checking in again. Bombed my last math test before the final (60%) and discovered, due to a situation that would take too long to explain, that I have to take the final Friday, a week before anyone else has to take it. But whatever, the final should be easier than the last test was. I've done well on everything else so far so hopefully the final will get me at least a B.
Other than that I have a paper to finalize (another hour or so and I'll be done) and the ppt presentation to submit with it, then I'm done with a capital D.
I'm registered and ready to go for next semester and so far the transfer has gone better than expected. As long as student loans don't cause as much trouble as they did this last semester Spring will be a positive event in my life. I'm actually looking forward to it.

Oh my heck, I am lol because I kept saying the same thing to dh "this is so stupid that I am even in school still, I should have been done with this years ago!"
Anyhow, finished my giant paper, squeezed an A out of a class I was worried about so YAY YAY YAY, registered and paid already for spring term... I tried to take the absolute easiest classes possible next term.
I have a book to finish reading and a quick paper due on that and then a final in sociology. I have over 100% in the class so not worried.
one more week, two more finals. One class I am doing excellent in, the other two, not so sure.
I am currently trying to pull money out of thin air to be able to afford to stay in school next semester.
Being an adult, as well as a single mom that lives with only my kids, and staying in school is quite a freakin challenge!
Looking around the house for things to consign, sell, or swap for schoolbooks..

Do you not qualify for Financial Aid? Ask about a bridge scholarship or a book scholarship. Dh got one when he was in school that covered most of his books. I know our community college has to practically beg people to apply. They have a special consideration for single parents. Some schools allow you to "charge" your books, then they take it out of the financial aid award when it comes. Lastly, check the school and interlibrary loan library system. I have completed many semesters without ever buying a book by borrowing them and renewing a few times. Even if they "fine" you they drop the fine when you return the book so it's really not a big deal.

Becky,
Are you in the US?
I second finanical aid.
I would not be going to school right now
if it were not for financial aid!
Scholarships for single moms?
School programs for single moms?
here's the catch-
my custody has been reduced to about 35%, NOT BY MY CHOICE. So, I cannot claim that I provide half or more support for my kids to qualify for anything.
Because of this, I also cannot get Medi-Cal.
