I'm tansferring to the 4-year university in the Spring. Well, somehow they don't have my social security number on file, which means they don't have my FAFSA on record. They HAVE my FAFSA but don't have it associated with my file because it's based on my ss# which they don't have for me. Grrrr, lol. So now I have to go on campus like TOMORROW with my social security card so my FAFSA is in the pile of money seekers who might actually get some $$$, lol. They start handing out awards on Nov 1st. Dang it. How could they not have my social security number??? It's on every dang piece of paper you fill out. EVERY SINGLE ONE, lol.

Weird. You'd think they could just get that over the phone.

After much discussion and being placed on hold we've come up with a solution. They are allowing me to fax them a copy of my ss card and my drivers license. This is about as ridiculous as it gets since they have *3* official transcripts which would have that info on it, as well as my FAFSA which is technically in the system but not officially attached to my file. Stupid. They have already evaluated all of it, it's just that I didn't put my social on the application. Why didn't I put my social on the app? Well, that's because it doesn't ask for a social, it asks for your "student number" which, of course, I didn't have. Apparently you're supposed to magically assume they mean ssn if you don't have a student number.

So now I'm having trouble getting ahold of the advisor who I HAVE to make an appointment with. 3 messages and still no call-back. Grrrr. I hate to start off my UMSL experience by having to call the Dean but that's the next step if the advisor doesn't call back. Is it just me that draws this kind of weird chaotic energy regarding school?

Nah, school administrative stuff is always weird and chaotic. But then once you wade through it at a new school I think it gets better.
