After more thought, I am just not going to be comfortable posting in a forum that is googleable. I would personally prefer that it be private, but it needs to be at least somewhat restricted. I would hate for anyone to get into trouble for posting here.

I'll again register my desire not to have this forum private.

Why would you think that someone could get into trouble for posting about their school / instructors or whaterver?

because people have had their grades compromised by posting info online...I have had issues and it took involving deans to fix the issue.

You know, I have had all sorts of interesting stuff happen to me posting at amity. I posted a review for a shoe company and then got a personal email from that company in my email inbox with a link to the post thanking me. I had a woman looking for random ikea curtains find my post here and contact me (which is good, but I was surprised). When I am PERSONALLY googling random things, I am always surprised how much amity comes up in my google searches. I don't personally feel comfortable being very open with the forum googleable. I don't know that it needs to be private, but at least registration. And I posted this because of the other thread on the matter. You can read that if you feel the need for more reasons.

Here's another example--if your courses use MyDropBox, it searches the web. If you posted a paper or something to get feedback or editing help, My Drop Box or a similar site could find it and find you paper to be not authentic, and you would be unable to turn in your assignment without rewriting your entire paper.

That too.
