I am older than everyone in my class AND older than my professor.
There were jokes this week about not even having calculators in my time but a chisel and stone.

Well, at least I can add/subtract/multiply/divide without having to rely on a calculator and darn it I walked to school in snow uphill both ways for three miles.

Oh lord. I have reached that point in life!

I hadn't thought much about professors being younger than me at this point! That will be interesting. :D

Is your university pretty traditional-aged? There were always students my current age or older in my classes at GSU, but it was a little atypical that way (and a few other ways :p ).

Yes, it appears to be.
It is a community college.

When I went to school back in NC,
many non-traditional students.
Now... at 34 I am the oldest!

The last time I went to college, I was 27. I'm 36 now and dunno when I will go back and get my degree but yeah, I've though about my professors being younger than me. I loved the dinosaur jokes or references to being alive with Shakespeare.

I remember bonding with a 43 y/o woman...we were the only ones who read the assignment and did our homework, lol!

My MIL graduated from law school at 52 and I was shocked how many comments she received about not getting a job because of her age. (Talk about being supportive!) We live in such an agesist society. We're always learning. I hope to be in college at 70! (Hopefully I'll be done with my English degree by then, lol.)

In some of my classes I'm probably the oldest though in others there are many folks older than myself. I like the mix of opinions and such that the age mix brings about in discussions.

In my late 20's, I was back in school and had several instructors older than me. They LOVED me because I was interested in learning!

I think a lot has to do with which courses you are taking.

The general ed tend to be full of youngsters but the more advanced courses of majors have older students often.

I am taking an advanced course right now and am 48 and there are several my age and older.

Last semester one of the students was making a "small talk" with me. One of the questions was - "So, when did you come to USA?" I said "1991".

She squealed in delight - "Oh! I was born in 1991!". So, not just *I*. My *DS* is older than her!

I am used to things like that - I am either younger than everybody else, older than everybody else, different gender than everybody else...

I say - celebrate it!

I tell DH that I am having my second teenagehood :p

People born in 91 are in college? Oh my, I do feel old. Sigh, I am 31 and way too old I have decided. LOL
