Is this hard to do? Are there zoning laws regarding keeping bees? Would it be wise to keep bees on a city lot with a boy who is bee-phobic?
My dad and uncles have kept bees on and off for years, so I have IRL advisors, but I'm just curious.

We live on near 2 acres, in the city. I called the zoning folks here and they had nothing on the books concerning bees.
The guy did advise about asking neighbors if they had any issues. We give honey to those around us who have flowers!!
We are thinking of moving all the bees because one of our neighbors is a HUGE on chem-lawn and we are afraid of pesticide drift. We have 2 remote locations with hives on them, right now. This is until we find land of our own.
All that said, we have 1 bee-phobic guy (only because he got a serious sting, ALL the venom and was swollen for a few days on the site) but he just knows to be gentle if they come near him and to not go in front of the hives.
I love our bees. We have learned so much from hosting them!! No, not hard to do. Just find a local beekeeping group to plug in to, if you can. There will be a WEALTH of info there!!
