Today we got 5 tiny chicks in the mail from mypetchicken.com. 4 are regular sized and 1 is a bantam. 1 of the big ones is really picking on the little guy. she keeps pecking at her and once she "bit" her on the leg and yanked her. the little one seems perfectly healthy to me and none of the other big ones are bothering her.

what should i do???

Put her in time out. :lol: j/k

If you're using a white heat lamp, go buy a red heat lamp. It helps w/the pecking and bullying.

we do already have a red lamp. maybe the bully is just grouchy from the trip, and she'll be nicer soon? actually, the last couple times i've checked in on them i haven't seen any of the meanness.

Yep, just give them time to adjust. And you could separate the one getting picked on for a day, like by building a little walled off area w/cardboard - but then you'd have to water and feed her separately, so I'd only do that if it gets extreme (if blood is drawn).
