Okay, totally NOT homestead worthy other than the fact that it's poultry. These are purely here because they make me smile. I will be able to make good money off of the eggs (for hatching) once they start laying because they are a fairly rare breed, but I honestly just got them because I like them.

With that said...these are the seven lovely ducks that I got from a member of my group (got two more, but I gave them to my neighbor b/c she wanted some) and the little one is one that I hatched out.

They are all bantams. These are all supposed to be australian spotteds, but there may be one or two miniature silver appleyard. I think there is one, but not positive. (She ordered the aussies and they added two appleyards, but she lost one or two ducklings at first and thinks at least one was an appleyard.)

Also, only two of these plus the duckling are named. I would LOVE name ideas for the unnamed ones! :-)

Some I have multiple pictures of a particular duck. Forgot to say, these were all except one and the baby, hatched the end of April, I believe I was told.

Drake?

Baby Kanga ~ he is very bonded as he was a single hatchling. When we play with him on the front lawn, if the kids go where he can't see them, he'll come running/waddling to me. It's HILARIOUS.

Oh what fun. That first one looks like a mallard drake.

Yeah, he does have that coloring. He's a "green head" (isn't that creative? hehe) australian spotted bantam. It amazes me how much a lot of the different breeds look like mallards, though. I think a lot must go back to that, though.

Well I think they're just adorable and smaller than the average duck I presume? Dh would have a cow if he found a duck in the pool.
