Has anyone done a naming ceremony (or have any knowledge about these)?

My DH and I are not religious, but would like to do something for our families. My in-laws are not religious either, but are somewhat more traditional and have asked if we are getting our DD baptized or christened. I am of italian & irish decent, my grandmother and great-grandparents raised us catholic. My mom was a pretty liberal feminist, so she let us find our own path. I was confirmed out of respect for my elder generations.

I have looked into naming ceremonies and there are some officiants and places of worship around here that do them ( I also will only support a person or place that also supports civil unions, which are legal here).

Thoughts?

Our situation is different because I am Jewish by birth tho I am a Christ follower these past 17 years (messianic Jew per some). My girls were both named in synagogue, my son was named at his bris according to the Law.
I just didn't want to open, read and not answer lol.
I think naming ceremonies are quite lovely regardless of the background, religion, culture - they're meaningful to all involved and I hope you find what you're looking for to make your ceremony special.
