I think I read that The dog days run until August 12th or something. Anyway, this is when i usually lose control of the garden and yard. It's hard to get outside and stay outside in this heat. Especially being a winter flower ya know. lol.

So, I've been doing most of my work at night, as the sun is setting. Sometimes in the morning too, but admittedly, I don't really like mornings.

I've also been stocking the fridge with ready to go meals for afternoon activities outside of the house....little league and such.

Encouraging a late afternoon nap, so we can all work and play longer after dinner.

Are you doing anything to get through the heat? Minnesota really is the state for me, but in all honesty, I'd probably curl up and hibernate through july and Aug if I could.

Heat? Heat? Where?

This has been such a cold and dreary summer for us. :wah:

Sorry, not helpful I know. Just needed a shoulder there for a moment.

It hasn't been terribly hot here either. It never is...but it's lovely and sunny and mid 70s to low 80s most days.

I like to drink my coffee, then do my weeding meditation first thing in the morning. Still cool, no bugs. Evening = too many biting flies.

I've been going out in the evenings for a couple of days now... too many bugs though. The past few days have been the hottest all summer. Great for drying clothes though :)

We don't have a lot of bugs. We just don't have much shelter for them combined with a stiff breeze, well they all blow away. I forget about being grateful for that until I go in town to my mom's house. ugh. the skeeters are bad.

Same here. All my delicate plants are just crispy in the morning. I like to go out early with my 2yo to water. My 4yo comes out next and the 3 of us have a great time together. By the time the others wake up, I have to go back in.. it is hot and they are hungry.

Bacl out again after sunset, when the bugs have gone nighty-night. My olders like to play flashlight tag..
Yeah, the last few nights have truly been TN summer!!! HOT, humid, sticky and buggy and my clothes are drying lightening-fast... til rainy today but I welcome the rain, even though I watered this morning.
