I've played along at the fair with my sewing and the kids' art projects. I'm no where near animal or produce showing tho.

So, I'm wondering if anyone is planning to enter this year? If so, what? :)

My kids are all planning to enter a drawing. My son is going to enter some warhammer figurines he has painted, and I had hoped my eldest daughter and I would each be entering a quilt, but with little more than a month to go, I don't think that is going to happen. I pushed for a hooked rug category to be added, so should really enter one! I've never made one, but I have the supplies. :hahaha:

I have wanted to enter some cooking, sewing and the honey for years but dh doesn't really care for it.... This year, we are going to hit up a couple of the local fairs and I am going to plant some more seeds in his head. The kids are getting old enough to enjoy entering and seeing everything. I think they were just too young to care so *he* wasn't interested. Also, he is a converted city boy so he is slow!!

still not sure if I will enter some strawberry jam and maybe I will just sneak his honey in and maybe the wax too. There is a category for that!

Oh you should, I bet that would change his interest. :)

It's so fun to go looking after the judging is complete.

Oh, you are so right!! I am gonna do it. He would get a kick out of it!! The kids would be thrilled!! I think he is a bit scared that his won't stack up somehow. whatever!!!
Thanks for the encouragement!

I've never even thought of entering things. This year is the first year we will be evn going to the local fairs. In Maine I went to the local and the Fryeburg fairs. And now we go to the Big E - this year we're going on 4H day to see if the girls would like to aim for that.

Oh! And this year I WILL NOT MISS the Common Ground Fair in Maine. Totally awesome fair that I have never been to - all organic, etc.
