Has anyone used EFT during labor?

I haven't but know of moms who do/have.

Best bet is to have someone else know how to tap on you because of being distracted ....

Also,, moms report being sensitive to touch so holding the points rather than tapping is good ....

Also, tap before hand on any and all fears, etc .... Really helps.

Just a few ideas ....

There is a woman who is a colleague of mine (I am a Birthing From Within Mentor) who uses it in conjunction with the other processes in her classes. It was her using it that first got me interested in EFT. I learned it very basically in order to try and incorporate it into my classes. (I did a small bit but didn't learn enough to really get deep into it)

I did use it with a doula client while she was in labor and was going into a deep downward spiral of thinking. Simple breath awareness wasn't bringing her to a calm center so I started having her tap and repeat phrases after me. It was probably not a technically accurate tapping session, but it did help a great deal. She would not have been able to do that on her own though. It is the kind of thing that you will probably need/want someone to tap with you or to at very least remind you of tapping as a resource.

Start doing tapping now before labor and clear out fears and find your strengths. And before labor, write down a list of what you pain/fear coping techniques are so that whoever is with you supporting you can prompt you to use them. Include EFT on that list. Best of all, start tapping before labor with your support person so that they will be familiar with it and with your fears and needs going in.
