I'm pretty busy so linking to them is about all I have time for, but enjoy! The new layer chick pics are there, and the start of our garden.

Great pictures!
I forget how late spring comes to VT. You would think that memory would stick better.
What is the "pool"? Like a swimming pool? Or some kind of pond?

Oh, believe me, I know. And remember - we're later than anywhere else in Vermont. We are in the northeast corner, on a mountain at 1800 feet elevation. My lupines just bloomed yesterday! They bloomed about a week ago in town (not at elevation).
We have an easy set pool for the kids for swimming, 18' round and 4' deep, salt*water. (Sorry, edited for word filter and because after browsing through my pics real quick I figured out what you were asking about.)
We'd love to have a swimming pond dug, but that's a project for another year. :) For now the easy set pool works great. The spot we set it up on, was the hardest part - we're on a mountainside and making it level was a challenge.

Our neighbors had an above ground pool in VT and I always thought it was so funny (being from Texas and all). They had about 3 weeks out of the year where it was warm enough to get in it (at least to ME!).
Our bluebonnets (lupines) are our state flower and bloom here in mid March.

Great pictures. You sure have a beautiful homestead.
I've already forgotten how small baby chicks are. That was fun to see again.

Oh I know...I grew up in NY and was always surprised how "cold" perfectly delicious, warm water was to folks when I lived in Florida!
But we put a solar blanket on it and it's a good 80-82 degrees in the water, if not more (I can't bring myself to spend $ on a mercury-containing thermometer for it). Last year we didn't have the blanket and it was frigid and never warmed up. The kids are going in it every day. We're regularly having days in the high 70s and low 80s and even hit 90 for a stretch of 3 days last week.
it looks so great! the chicks are cute.
great photos.
