Hi Ladies,
I’m new to this site and I would really love to share my story with you all in hope to get some advice. Some History… I have a beautiful 7 month old named Harmony. I stopped breastfeeding when she was between 6-8weeks old due to getting very ill with mastitis in one of my breasts I was on IV antibiotics and it took me a good 2 months to start feeling better the swelling took another month after that to completely subside. I then was going through an emotional roller coaster on missing that connection with my bubby girl, it took a few weeks for me then to listen to my instincts and I searched the net. Well to my surprise I found loads of information about ‘Relactating’… so we started the journey I started giving her the bottle in the breastfeeding position and all the other suggestions that are out there. I’m pumping as much as I can as we have Summer who is 22months old as well. Harmony is now breastfeeding fulltime with the aid of a Medela Supplement Nursing System for 8weeks now. I got my first drop 4weeks ago and have been able to express a couple of ml. I’m also taking every herb possible to the point I think I’m rattling LOL. Would someone be so kind to give me some guidance regarding how long will it take to get full supply back, if I ever do? Also at the moment with some feeds she sucks for a little while then pulls off then sucks again she dose this a couple of times. I feel that she may be able to taste my milk when she is first sucking and keeps going back for more… does this sound right?

Loving this experience of breastfeeding again… Trying to stay positive on those bad days.

Warm Regards
Cherie

I don't have a good answer for you, but I'm just bumping this thread in hopes some experienced Mama does!

Have you tried contacting your local La Leche League? This is exactly the kind of thing they are there for!

I linked it on the market, because more people will see it that way. I don't have the answers, but I know there are people who have relactated, or are really knowledgeable about breastfeeding. Good luck!

 to you, Mama!

Yes, that sounds right!
The more she nurses, the more milk you will make...just keep nursing as much as you can (offer it to her every hour if you can!) , and definitely contact a League group near you, they are SO helpful and full of knowledge :)

I don't have any advice, just wanted to say that your little one is lucky to have a mama like you! Good luck and keep up the good work!
