Good idea ... as long as it isn't popped in oil.

I love Lush ... reminds me I need to order something.

Using popcorn for packing is a good idea, but I don't know if I would want to waste the food. The opened package may smell good.

I have done that. When I sent a big box to Iraq to my exhusband's wife (aka my son's stepmother), I packed everything in popcorn. That's been a few years ago. MUCH better than using plastic or styrofoam!

My only concern would be allergies.

I know this isn't exactly the same but in the past I've purchased things were the seller put a dryer sheet in the box to make it smell nice. One time it made me so ill, I had to go to the ER due to the allergic reaction I had. I didn't tell the seller all of that, just said that with allergies, the dryer sheets are a problem for some, like me.

That is a good idea, you could always mention to the buyer "I usually pack my things in popcorn but I can use something else if you prefer"

The only issue I see besides allergies is the choking hazard. Packing peanuts are a choking hazard too though. I personally like the peanuts that dissolve when you wet them. Still a mess though.

Lush have been doing that here for a while. I laughed & laughed the first time I saw my soaps nestled in real popcorn! You can put the popcorn in your compost bin if you have one :)
