My mom didn't make me and my sisters do much. We mowed the lawn in the summer, took out trash, raked leaves. That's about it. I am failing my teen; I have allowed her to become lazy. She does one chore for me daily since she goes to school. She usually does dishes, or folds laundry and puts it away.(My boys put away their own laundry, too.) When she was homeschooled she would also sweeps the floor.

The other day I had to run to the store and pick up her friend. I was away for 30 minutes and it was nice not to have to bring the 4 younger ones along. I don't think she could habdle watching them longer. Besides, the baby usually starts crying for me after 40 minutes. My point is, she helps me that way occasionally.

What else could she do? TIA!

My dd who is 11 does laundry start to finish, dishes, vacuums, picks up, wipes tables. We usually spend about 20-30 minutes on chores after school, and an hour or two on weekends (thats more cleaning).

Wow. That's a very responsible little girl! I realize that I have had the "she's just a kid" mentality. Kids can do A LOT. It's amazing what they can accomplish when given the chance.

BTW, your baby is soooo precious. Talk about baby lust!!
