:help: We have the worst mold in our calk!! (is that the spelling?) My husband has redone it several time but it just comes back no matter what I do. I was looking over the tub cleaners, all great but ca seem to get rid of the black ick. I have tried tea tree oil, not full strength, and peroxide. Neither worked. Is there any stronger peroxide? I think you usually find in 5 % strenth or something have to look at te bottle.
Some had mentione d a bleach ahbbit, If you spray w/ vinager then w/ peroxide it kiils germs like bleach. I will look it up and post it later.
Thanks for any help.

I would strip the caulk, treat with bleach, let dry completely, then recaulk. If it keeps coming back it might already be under your tiles in the backerboard stuff.

Thanks, I was hoping to avoid that but my kids in there with that makes me nuts! I am not sure but my husband may have done that but maybe he didn't let it dry all the way. I seem to remember him saying the previous owner had used something that completely hardened sn he couldn't get under that, only his own stuff. What happens if it is in the tiles and backboard stuff? Have to rip it all out??

You would have to completely rip it all out.
How long is taking for the mold to come back?
Have you tried any commercial mold cleaners such as Tilex?
How is your ventilation (this is the biggest key)?
We used to have a window IN our shower (old house originally only had a tub) and if we didn't wipe the window sill down after the showers were done that day, we would get mildew (the pink kind, not black mold). A quick wipe down really did wonders.

The ventalation is not so great I guess. I mean we have a fan and all, and we have that window in the shower too! LOL Thought we were the only ones. But I think if the fan or something was better that would help. we have tried comercial cleaners used to help but even then there is a gray stain left brhind. I try my best to stay away from them though. Especially since I nearly put my husband out for putting weed killer in the garden! :-)
I get that pink mold too, (are you secretly living in my house?? LOL) what is that?
