:) I am doing much better. The night sweats and most of the day time heat waves have stopped. Your tea was a big help. You are right that losing weight at this point in life is very difficult. I've tried the low carb diet and it was adversely effecting my kidney function. It had too much protein in it and that is hard on the kidneys. I have finally accepted that I am in the Crone phase of life and it is not a bad thing. The grandkids are a wonderful bonus. Also not having to worry about when my period is going to start and am I going to get caught at a bad time and place. No more having to carry pads in my purse! Now if we can get the sex thing straightened out life will be perfect.
Hope that everyone else is doing well. Lets hear from you all.

Charlene, I recently found out broccoli is a really good protein source that may be easier on the kidneys. I can understand kidney issues if overconsumption, but moderate should still be ok.
But yeah...harder for sure. I am doign the broccoli more often-cooked -uncooked cruciferous veggies are contrindicate for low thyroid due to infering with iodine uptake.

I gotta give you this recipe...my family raves last night about it

I've missed something. Iodine uptake? Is there a soundbyte for that somewhere? Short attention span. I'm still up and down, up and down, but working on staying up, up, up. Finally have an appointment with an endocrinologist on March 10. Haven't had my hormones checked since ... well, it was before the gallbladder surgery and that was A YEAR AGO! YIPES!!! Maybe it's a wonder that I'm doing as well as I am. *sheesh* A year ago. Time flies.

good luck mama. It has been a wild ride for you dear.

I read this is scientific studies quite awhile ago so I dont have the exact research I stated that from, but here are some links here and there online that talk about the cruciferous veggies and their effect on thyroid.
Cooked broccoli should be ok -but maybe there is other research that will prove incorrect...if anyone finds this true, please share it.
