Seriously :cuc:
I just found an old ad on Craigslist for sliding glass doors and I am going to build my greenhouse from them. I called the guy and he still has them! We live in a wealthy town (because we are on the CT shoreline) and there is a remodeling job where the people had a bazillion sliding doors taken out.
But, even if you don't have that in your area, ask the replacement window places because they usually just throw the stuff away. These doors aren't usually re-used. Or just windows. I am going to start asking around myself.
Now, I need to figure out how to build the thing. I'm not sure how large to make it (I haven't got the final count of doors available yet) or how to configure it. And I don't know what I am going to use for the roof.
I am thinking about putting the greenhouse on a wooden platform in case we ever need to move it for any reason. And we are close to a stream that may overflow but I haven't seen it get that high.
Any ideas? what would you do? I am hoping to be able to start plants for food and then have plant sales in a year or so (we have a few acres with a load of perennials to divide and the old owner did this).
