We have to leave the house right after breakfast tomorrow, so I won't be able to start the thread. We need to have the car inspected and oil changed, then return something at Big Lots and get groceries. That means we'll do some on-the-go learning: watching the guys at the shop, estimating and weighing at the grocery store, talking as we drive...
When we get home it will probably be a light day of playing Memory with the dolch words, baking something, observing the birds etc.

Our plan is to:
Bible- intro to book of Proverbs and review memory of books of Old Testament (song they are learning), Reading of the Story of Abram, review memory of Proverbs 30:5 (they get a new verse each week for discussion and memorization, also used in handwriting on Tuesdays and usually ties in with the stories throughout the week)
Reading- workbook page with vocab words to review from previously learned phonics lesson and intro and new words for new phonics lesson
Math- calender page (always), #of day activities (number line, money counting up to todays number, place value sticks and short work sheet that has them play with the new number), workbook sheet graphing numbers of animals in a box of animal crackers (gotta love 'yummy' food lessons!)
They will each read to me as well (Ds reads two Bob books, he is finishing up the last set, and dd reads me 2 library books and charts that on her Hundred book chart) and usually earn play money throughout the day that they trade in for bigger bills and count with their big stash of play money that they have been earning throughout the year. We have audio books they listen to at night, dh reads to them from their bible and I read to them from their current chapter book. We've been playing various board games in the evening as well. Lots of play time and collecting eggs from the chickens always take place as well.

Sarah has therapy all morning so the girls will do language arts and reading comprehension worksheets while the PT and ST are here.
After that I have a spelling bee planned(they love to do this...lol), some multiplication tables, continuing our projects on the original thirteen colonies, reading time, and we should be ready to start putting our T Rex together. I had wanted to go for a walk around the property but it's only supposed to be 16* tomorrow so I think we'll stay in and bake snickerdoodles instead.

we will be out the door early in the morning and not back until lunch time.
We will buy stuff in our play store for math and learn how to add 2digit numbers.
we will also talk about goods and services. write about it. practice it...
maybe play some games, read together. play mad libs, write a letter we never got around to....
maybe watch a kids cooking show on demand. we'll make dinner together and talk about food and stuff.

My plan is to read over my plan and decide not to do it because I am too tired:lol:
We're all getting over strep throat so "school" may or may not happen tomorrow.

This is a great thread! We started back yesterday and I'm going to try and be more on the ball to get stuff done this second half of the year. I also want to do more fun stuff:)
Reading-They'll each do a lesson in their book
Math-Each do a lesson as well as do some more online games that we found yesterday
Spelling-DS will work on review of the first 5 lessons
Grammar- DS will do a lesson on compasslearning.com
Bible-Both will listen about Cain and Abel
Play sight word memory that I read about in Meeshi's thread:) I don't have any ink in my printer so I made them on cards for the preschool set so far.
PE-DS has karate this afternoon
Not sure what else we'll do, but maybe seeing what others do will help get my creativity flowing:)

We are on winter break until next Monday. I have had an awful migraine all day, so DH has taken Aidan to all his therapies ( speech, O.T. and P.T.).
Does watching "Word World" count as schooling?

This morning ds found a map of Paris that belonged to my grandfather when he was in WW2. Using the key we measured how far apart different areas were and found out in what direction we would have to travel if we were driving through the city to get to the areas.
That led us to ds writing (with my help) a story about himself as a soldier in the war.
Then my ds remembered a video he saw about the Red Baron, so later we went to the library to get books about germany and WW1.
We also did some science reading about carbon and a science experiment.
