A few sew and shows from Christmas gifting. :p

A beginning sewing kit.
This is both craft AND sewing..I made the pincushion, and the needlebook, and then painted and lined the box. I realize I made the needlebook upside down, but it was too late to fix, cause I had already made the closure the other way.

One of those ubiquitous rainbow pencil rolls all over the blogs right now:

It was a LOT harder than I thought to find 13 fabrics that worked for this!! And it IS straight, I promise!!! :p

It's an apron and potholders...the apron wouldn't cooperate for pics, but at least you can see the relevant part. :p The potholders are massive, cause I HATE trying to keep anything from touching the hot pan, while using those pretty little dainty pieces of useless junk that usually pass for potholders. The images are stenciled, using pro stencil paint. I love that stuff.

This is just the back, the only really interesting part. The front is just basic round neck tunic. I used Ottobre something or other, and I am pretty sure I did something awfully wrong on the bottom flounces, but it still came out okay. The fabric is this voile, with even finer weave in between the flowers, so it comes off so delicate, but it's still relatively sturdy. The wings were made from this stiff, sheer green stuff, that had these plastic silver and clear dewdrops scattered in waves all over, and silver holographic bits stuck on as well. Very cool. I didn't have to do anything to stiffen them, except hem the edges, which gave them a little body. Then I gathered the middle (started out kind of like a rounded rectangle), and sewed them down. I hope they keep working. :p I made two of these, for two girls. I have a third almost done for another girl.

Mini totebag for a little girl:

Used the ever handy Jordy pattern from Craftster, and then added the swirly thing cause it seemed too plain. The smilie face button was the only one I had that matched, so I took comfort in the fact that a little girl most likely would actually like it that way.

Starleigh headband:

Also too plain, so I whipped together a felt flower to add to it.

That's all that's done in the sewing dept. Still working on finishing more, and the other stuff I did wasn't sewing, either.

Wow everything is so amazing. I love the sewing kit. I've been wanting to make a small one for purse, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I love the different colors for the pencil roll. I imagine it was hard to get that many different matching fabrics. But it turned out awesome and well worth the effort IMHO. I love the ninja gift set. Like I said, everything is just amazing. I bet everyone loved what they got.
