Wow, Kas. You've come a long way fast! That's awesome.
We haven't put anything on credit for Christmas either.
But I am kind of bummed because my parents gave me $100 for Christmas (they gave the kids some toys) and now I realize I only have $20 left and didn't spend any of it on me. :( I put $20 gas into the van, bought some socks for Noah, took two kids to Burger King to play because the other two went swimming with friends and the ones left behind were sad about that, got each kid a present for $10 each when I realized that noone's birthfamily sent any presents this year, and I guess bought a few other things that altogether added up to $80!
That's been tricky because some years Cole's birthfamily has sent huge hundred-dollar gifts and I've tried to balance things out amongst the other kids. But usually everyone gets something in the mail, and this year they haven't. So otherwise they would just be getting a spinbrush toothbrush, and a stocking I guess, but that's not really from us. Now they each have something else to open, anyway.
Anyway, basically, I'm bummed out because I wanted to have something for Christmas, but I chose to spend it differently. I'm sure I could get a new watch or pajamas with $20 at an after-christmas sale. And those are the things I wanted anyway. Anyway, just talking. Blah, blah, it's all about me, of course. LOL.
Way to go, all you guys! A cash christmas all around!

it's been difficult, don't let me fool you. it took me getting off my ass and getting my job for us to get back on our feet.
-and me spending A LOT less. - and us "going out" A LOT less.
-and more meals made at home, etc.
changes all the way around = cash xmas :)

Congrats!
Doesn't it feel amazing? We've done a debt-free holiday for close to a decade now, and it never stops feeling good.

Same here!! :)
I was able to either trade for or sell for enough to pay for everything myself. It really put previous spending habits in perspective for me. We MAJORLY simplified this year and it all worked out just fine.
