I know I haven't posted here in a while but I just had to share what I made for Colin's classmates for presents.

They are personal tissue holder monsters. You take the tissue out of their mouth.

OMG those are cute! I bet your sewing machine was covered in that fake fur stuff when you finished! Did you line the inside at all? I have a scrap of furry fleece stuff that would be perfect for those. My DD & DN *must* have those in their stockings!

What a great mom you are! I've never done anything that cool for my kids' classmates:bow:

DH says he wants one, so I guess now I'll have to try making one.

I couldn't help myself. I had to make DD & DN these for stocking stuffers. Still don't have kleenex to stuff them with but oh well. They are just too cute not to make!

Basically you use your favorite tissue holder pattern. I used very thin fun fur so it was easy. The stuff I used didn't have that stiff backing like most fun fur. If you use regular fun fur you may have to make the pattern a little wider to accomodate for turning the fabric inside out.

Anyway, here some patterns:
Fabric Tissue Holder Patterns » TipNut.com (http://tipnut.com/fabric-tissue-holder-patterns/)

I cut 2 pieces of fabric (one furry, one just plain cotton) to 6 by 7.5 inches.
I put them right sides together and sewed the 2 6 inch sides together. I turned them right sides out and folded them into the tissue holder shape (the fur side out). I then sewed the 2 folded sides using a small seam allowance. I turned them wrond side out (cotton side out) and sewed the 2 folded sides again making sure to enclose the other seam allowance. Turn right side out again and add buttons for eyes (or felt). Don't use safety buttons because they poke the tissues and don't lay right. Now your done.

Those are awesome Chole. I love the color. Green is my oldest son's favorite color. When we were looking for the fun fur we couldn't find any green. Your monsters look awesome. I bet your kiddos loved them.
