I am hoping to make a quilt for a friend of mine who is currently in ICU and has a long road of recovery ahead of her.
I would love to get an "in" with her extended network of friends and see if they want to donate squares, but I might not be able to swing that as her friends are scattered geographically and I don't know many of them well at all. So - I might be making this quilt totally on my own.
If I do make it on my own, it will need to be the smallest size that's useful to her - for affordability purposes, as well as the simple fact that I actually want to finish it in a reasonable amount of time. If I pull this off, this will only be the third quilt I've ever made and the first two were small.
So my question is - what are appropriate dimensions for a small quilt? I'm thinking large enough to cuddle on the couch with - not to cover a bed with. Thanks!
