Anybody every buy one or a notebook?

I need (need, NOT want) ;) a new computer.

So, is brand spanking new the way to go? Or, is refurbished acceptable? The warranty's on the latter seem pretty respectful.

I like the idea of recycling an older one plus saving money AS LONG AS it will live a good, long computer life.

TIA for any tips - I need one within the month.

I bought my refurbished Gateway back in 2000 and it's still going strong. The only thing that I've needed to do with it, is to upgrade to Windows XP.
