I just sat down with Annabelle with our US edition and found that I don't have what I thought we did. I have the text book, not the work book.
When y'all get Singapore, do you get all three books? Do you just get the workbook? Any advice would be great :D

I did, and didn't find them that useful. BUt it depends, probably, on your own math level and the level at which you are teaching.

I haven't but the highest level of singapore we are using is 2a/2b so I'm still pretty comfortable with it.

I get just workbooks/textbooks too, but if I were going past second grade I probably would spring for the guide.

You will want them for 3A-6B. They're extremely helpful when you need to learn to draw the diagrams for the story problems.
The biggest things to stress in the first books is whole and parts (P+P=W, W-P=P, etc.) and making ten.
you can see how they solve the 3+ story problems at Thinking Blocks (http://www.thinkingblocks.com)
singapore is an amazing math program. :) we've worked all the way through the primary books and i can see how it all fits together.
