My oldest stepson is 10 going on 21!!!I feel for him I really do because when his mom and dad were together he spent most of his time in public school and daycare as both parents worked.He is the first grandson and both parents and grandparents have always put high expectations on him and told him how much they expect.I know his mom has struggled with depression and i think he was left to raise his younger brother a lot

pair that with a preteen attutude and i just dont even know where to start!!!I am prolly the complete opposite of his mom.I have always stayed home with my kids and homeschooled my kids.all 6 are homeschooled right now and he is doind wonderful!.I have told him over and over the only kid he has to be in charge of is himself.he is constantly being sneaky about things maintaing his "perfect genius" kid title the grandparents have put on him.I have caught him lying,hurting the other kids.He is also a very good kid but the way he's been raised and the philosphy i have raised my kids on are VERY different!!

Plus add in the factor that my oldest is 8 and so I have not gone through this stage before!!:eek: he wants to be a grown up so badly but only if that means he can be in control of the other kiddos.I have explained to him that being older means being able to take care of yourself first and work on the things you need to work on yourself.I have taken stuff away for inappropriate behavior but it doesnt seem to phase him.

:hug: I don't have much advice, too darn early in the morning for me :p, but I suggest posting up in the marketplace....a LOT more traffic. Not many people wander down here. :)
