Bryce is still struggiling in math. One of the biggest issues is that he is supposed to copy the problems out of the textbook. Half the time he copies them wrong. I'm not sure that switching him to a new program is really the answer because I thought in 7th grade most if not all programs had them copying the problems anyway.

I really love the Teaching Textbooks series. They are about a grade behind IME, but I think that could be really good for a kid struggling with math. The lectures are really easy to follow. The workbook has the problems repeated.
My ds had copying problems too. This has been really helpful. He has some copying to do, but not as much as a traditional workbook.
It's been great for us. It's a little spendy, but worth it for how it fits into our lives. I don't have time to do a lot of "lecture", and ds was outgrowing me.
Now we to TT together.

TEACHING TEXTBOOKS
Math has *always* been a struggle and test of wills with Isabelle. I finally went with TT and it's *heaven*. Beyond perfect. Worth several times what it costs despite being pricey.
Try their demos. It's exactly like the demo. It's all on the computer.

Math*U*See has workbooks with a DVD of the lessons being explained. They aren't done by grades, but by what the child can do. There are placement tests that can be printed out from their website.

We really like Math U See as well. The DVD is short, to the point and SO helpful. And the worksheets are great.

We have that issue, too, Kelly - with copying and actually getting the right problem copied. They can do it with letters/words, but somehow numbers just don't go form the book to the notebook as easily.
We're having really good luck with MUS and also with TT. Austin also did pretty good with ALEKS -- Assessment and Learning, K-12, Higher Education, Automated Tutor, Math (http://www.aleks.com) - works at their own pace.

Thanks for the suggestions. This has always been our area of weakness, and I struggle with how to handle it. Anyway, he managed to get an 89% on his math test today, which was awesome. Of course on the test, he dosen't have to copy the problems LOL!!
The last few days I've been writing the problems out for him on graph paper. He clearly understads the concepts and simply can't manage to copy the problems correctly, as evidenced by him getting everything right on his homework the past few days. So I can't decide if I'm helping him or hindering him by copying the problems for him....
