How do you all make your house smell nice? Ive been reading stuff about fake air fresheners (like plug ins) and how they arent good for kids, us and everyone, but how else can I make my house smell nice? herbally? fresh? you know when you walk in some poeples houses, they just smell....good.

We use a little plug in diffuser. It looks like a ufo and it has a little metal plate for essential oils. It gently heats the oil and smells so good, depending on what essential oil you pick out. Some of them are very beneficial during cold and flu season. Each one has its own specific use. So while you are making your house smell wonderful you could also be helping with sadness, sickness, anxiety, etc. I love them. Most natural or herbal type stores should carry something similar.

I have a Yankee candle tart warmer and use tarts (when I had my own house, that is) and I looooved that thing! I cannot wait to use it again. I'm kind of tired of living in a house that smells like kimchi and fish all the time.

This is what we use, too. I got mine at the grocery store (in the organic section)

lots and lots of yankee candles

i also use these sachets (in paper) that they sell at bed bath and beyond in all of our closets (I love the grape, but right now it's hot cider)

Tara was a total sweetheart and brought me two of my all-time-favorite votive scents last weekend  Pumpkin Pie (which Jack took a bite of today!!!) and Harvest - so it must be yummy :D

I have a tea light diffuser that I put either EO or a tart in.

ETA: Also, when the heat is turned on in the winter, I'll put a few drops on EO on my heating vents and it really puts the smell thru the room.

I love to burn Nag Champa Incense. But I dont think that it makes it smell fresh just good. I also do candles, or just put a candle in my baby crocpot and let it go.

I have a plug in EO diffuser that takes pads, you put a couple of drops on the pads and then insert it in the diffuser. Only problem is I am out of pads and Mountain Rose quit selling them.

The age old incense sticks are my choice as far as keeping the home from bad odor are concerned. My husband once suggested me about the essence oils but I was taken aback seeing the price of them. They cant be afforded by middle class people like us, therefore with so many varieties of incense sticks I use them to good effect.

I have an electric candle warmer by Yankee. I just buy the tarts. It's great since I can leave the house without turning it off. ;)
