Ok, since there is going to be the four of us, we each need to make 8 squares, ship 6 to me. Also, I was thinking about including pieces of your main tree fabric for the center square. Don't worry about it if you can't include it.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. I can't wait to see what everyone makes!

if no one else signs up, is this still going to be a go? I don't want to cut until I make sure..

Yes! I am still very interested in doing the SWAP.
My original intentions for this quilt was for a wall hanging. So, with four people, we can change the number of squares we swap to 8 each and save the center square to do something different in.
Does that sound good?

Ok, then. It looks like it's just us. :)
I will update the op with the final number of squares etc...
If possible, can everyone send in four pieces of their main tree fabric? That way we can use them for our center squares?

Jeannine, I've been using at least 3 different fabrics for my tree fabric - partly because I didn't have enough of any one of them to use it for all of the blocks. I was planning on making 9 of the blocks anyway, and keeping one for my center square - I have the pieces all cut out for that - just have to finish putting them together. Is it OK if I just send in the 8 completed blocks (or perhaps just 6 of them, since I'd get 2 back again anyway)?
jeanbean

Yes, that's fine. The extra fabric for the center square was just a thought.
I'm pretty well organized, so I think I will be able to keep all the squares straight if everyone just sends 6. :)
Thanks,
Jeannine

I'm running a little late. My mother fell and I went to go take care of her for a week, and now my 6 year old is very ill. I'm about half done, and I'm hoping to have them ready to go by Monday, but it all depends at this point if the tummy bug is just for her, or if it's going to run through the family. I promise to have them done as quickly as I possibly can though - it's just not likely it'll be by the shipping date - what is that anyway? Friday? My theory is that if I can't get them done by then, I can do them on the weekend when Eric's here to help with the children, right? :)

I'm sorry Ladies - I have to drop out. I had good intentions, but my husband moved to a different position at work, we had an officer funeral the other day, and our schedule is completely shot. There's absolutely no way I can accomplish these right now.
I'm very sorry.

If you need more time, I wouldn't mind at all waiting for them. And I totally understand life getting in the way of good intentions. That's the story of my life. ;)
Let me know what you decide.

Thank you all for understanding, but I'd better just drop out cleanly. I'm overwhelmed with many of the things I have to get done already.
I'll watch for the next swap.
I'm sure your projects will be gorgeous!

ok... well... it will still work with the three of us. We will end up with three each of three different trees.
I'm finishing up mine this weekend, so as soon as I get K's I will be able to ship.
Thanks ladies,
Jeannine

I'll finish mine up this weekend too, I need to get them in the mail before we move at the end of next week. So I should still send 6?
jeanbean

Yes, send 6. We will each get 6 different ones back.
Thanks,

I've got 4 completely finished, working on the other two. I just wanted to explain why it's taking me so very long.
when I signed up, I'd have to do it all by hand.. and if you remember, I badly broke my hand 9 months ago, and had surgery. It's still got some major issues.. I've got about 50% range of motion in my middle finger, about 30% in my ring finger, and 0% in my pinkie.
my hand gets so stiff when I work on it, and then it hurts so badly that I've had to take my prescription pain meds on the evenings that I've worked on these. I haven't had to dip into those meds since we moved from GA (relied heavily on them while packing)
Now, I don't mean to be whiny or anything - please know that.. I just felt like I needed to explain the delay.. and to let y'all know that while they're nothing super fancy, they truly are a labor of love. I'm desperately trying to get them out this weekend - but if it doesn't happen, it's because of my hand.
I got off to a late start because of my mom's fall, and the week I spent in Oregon caring for her, and that didn't quite help in terms of time. I'm so very sorry for the delay.

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties with your hand. Don't stress about taking the extra time. They will be greatly appreciated. I'm actually glad to have some more time to work on mine, too. :)

I loved them too :) I think I'm going to save them and make cool pillows next year for everyone's gifts if I don't get them put together in the next few days so they can be hung before Christmas.
I want a seasonal tree wall hanging now.. or a months of the year one - that would be really cool. One for each month :)

That is awesome. I knew this was going to be a good swap. :)
I'm ready to piece my front together, but I threw my back out last week and have been on the couch since then. This is the first time I've been able to sit in a chair. But, now I'm really motivated to get it finished. :)
Thanks for sharing!
