What are you putting on top of your garden beds to prepare them for the winter? Free supplies I have available to me is TONS of oak leaves (I have oak trees) and used cedar chips and droppings from the guinea pigs cage/bedding. I don't know if either of those (the oak or the cedar) is a good idea for the garden. Tell me what to do to inhibit weed growth and feed my garden for the winter.
Also do I need to do anything to protect my worms during the cold weather (not super cold like North Dakota but we do occassionally get snow in the NW here) or are they fine? Same question for my chickens....
Thanks,
Sarah
