I am sending that picture in with my essay to win a local farm, thinking it may help my chances LOL (That is my DD in all the pictures!)

no..they aren't scary sharpened...i like 1...her face is a little washed out...but i like the overall picture. I also really like 4...just has a happy feel to it....i would probably crop it at an angle or crop out more of her arms...composition wise you never want to cut someone's hands off in a picture...but i'm not really a stickler for that sort of thing.

Julie, how do you crop at an angle?

You can crop on an angle in picasa--you use the straighten tool. So if you can do it easily in picasa, I bet you can do it in the "real" editing software relatively easily. I don't know how, though!

On my screen, #1 is too washed out on her face, and #2 doesn't have enough contrast for me. #4 is my favorite, and I like Julie's idea of an angle or a different crop.
