I have a long list of herbs I've found growing on my land (mostly meadow that's regrowing after being clearcut 8 years ago). St J Wort, yarrow, red clover, rose hips, goldenrod (oh I could dye everything yellow several times over, I have acres of goldenrod), of course dandelion, bee balm, coltsfoot, goldthread, bunchberries...the list goes on. Plus a bunch of pots of herbs I've planted.

I came across this today ThinkHolistic.com - Knowledge Base (http://www.thinkholistic.com/newspub/story.cfm?ID=241)

and thought I'd post it here - it's got great suggestions for how and when to wildcraft and prepare a bunch of commonly found wild herbs. Susun Weed is who introduced me to herbalism, through her books, and I'll always remember discovering chickweed and dandelion in Washington, with her book Healing Wise.

I'm envious! All we have in our yard is cows and poop.
