I finally got my plants in the ground. I was waiting for my beans to grow so I could see where I needed to put the tomatoes, peppers and cukes. Well... something ate my beans plants when they were about 4" tall. They looked so cute, too!
So... this evening I put my tomatoes in the ground. I have 3 types: better bush, romas and lemon boy. The better bush already has some little tiny tomatoes starting - but it's only about 18" high (if that). I'm hoping it will still grow. Anyone know, should I prune it off the top a bit? I also put a cucumber plant and two pepper plants (one is a purple pepper, the other is a blushing beauty). We'll see how they turn out.
My lettuce is growing nicely in a long container. I think it will be ready to eat in a week or two.
I have a pretty large culinary herb garden out front, too. I made some delicious basil pesto earlier this week. I also have been using the fresh herbs every day in our meals. I love having them available... and they smell so yummy. :)
