no, not dirty like that, sorry.

This is the dress that I whipped up last week for my DD to wear to last weekends event. I knew it was going to be painfully hot and that her usual jumps/skirts combo was going to be to many layers.

tan & white linen/rayon blend made to the kwik sew basic dress pattern in the largest size. I dropped the neck line an inch or so and split the back open for lacing holes. Top is faced with hanky weight linen, turned under at the waist & whip stitched to hide the rough edge. I didn't even bother to hem this, it's her "urchin" dress.

Not the best photo. By this point Sunday afternoon she wasn't wearing her shift or under petticoat anymore thanks to getting them soaked & sandy the night before. I'll be making several more of these with longer skirts with growth tucks as soon as I get the time.

It looks like she's having so much fun! Nice work! Did you do it all by hand?

Nice urchin dress! Great picture...she looks like she's enjoying the mud puddle!

I cheated and sewed everything but the lacing holes & the lining by machine. This was a test to see if it would work which is why I didn't mind her trashing it within hours of putting it on.
