hastings

I fell in love with this fuzzy gnome fabric and had to have it to do something for Lorelei. She's about ready for another growth spurt I think so I made it rather large so she'd get at least a year out of it.
Strip skirt from the 2 gnome coordinates and then I hit up my mother to embroider "To Gnome me is to Love me" on the bib and appliqued one of the gnomes next to it. I didn't have any ribbon or anything for the waist and didn't want the skirt up that high so I did made a woven "belt" out of bias tape and sewed it in place leaving the ends loose. Its difficult to see, but there are some white heart buttons stitched onto the loose streamers. Lorelei insisted it needed a hat so she's wearing one of my berets. If anyone has a brilliant idea for a coordinating hat I'm looking for ideas. :) Not the best pics of the outfit, but I thought they were cute of L.
I think I'm going to do a coordinating outfit for the baby with appliqued and embroidered shirt and then I have a black wool sweater I'm going to recycle into longies and felt a heart on the bottom. I'm plotting a crocheted gnome hat with earflaps and ties. I'd have done it today but I think I've sat all I can today and need to hit my mom up for more embroidery :)
