this is a Color Farm dress that both lyl and sarah wear. i embroidered the typical peace symbol along with the english word "peace" and the irish word for peace "síocháin" and the tsalagi (cherokee) word for peace "dohivi" to celebrate our family heritage. (there are actually two words for peace in tsalagi, the other is "nv-wa-do-hi-ya-da". and dohivi can also be spelled dohiyi - depending on who one talks to)

i used white embroidery floss because in tsalagi white always symbolizes peace, i had considered using red embroidery floss because i beleived it would look better but red symbolizes war [in tsalagi] it was important for me to project and keep with the meaning of the piece.
