Those of you remember I wanted a pattern to make a doll bed like this from the 70s?

Well, I never found a pattern, but here is what I came up with!

I ended up making 4 of these for the cousin -- they all LOVED it!

Cute! I had one when I was little... the bottom of the bed folded up completely over the top and had a drawsting to tighten, and so I could carry it around like a purse - is that what this does?

No, that is something different. This just has handles like a moses basket.

Thanks for looking!

Color me impressed! VERY!

That is so adorable...and it is cuter than the original, to boot.

Very cute! I really like it. :) I know that the patterns from Ottobre and another place (simplicity??) were said to be nearly impossible.

Any plans for a sew-a-long?

Also--did you ever get the last pringles can swap?

That's adorable! It's really difficult for me to sew without a pattern, and only a picture for guidance.

Oh that's very cute! My dd has one like that that came with a cheap-o baby from Target (a gift from mil) and the baby is long gone but the carrier is very well loved. My dd also has a larger Moses basket made out of (get this!) plastic shopping bags woven together. It's so cool.

Hmm, hadn't thought about a sew along. Never done one before, and it seems pretty daunting. Maybe if I can motivate myself to make yet another one <grin>!

And yes, I did get the Pringles can (thanks!). I posted a pic of my "booty" on the swap thread for everyone to drool over!

I would love it if you did a sew along at some point. I'm always in awe of people who can just figure out patterns, I'm so bad at that.

I think it's awesome.

And, sorry, I don't know how I missed that post! :(
