Per my ped., stay away from berries (straw, blue, rasp, etc) until after 1 y/o.

My 9.5 m/o is eating pretty much anything that isn't nailed down with the exception of fish (my sister is highly allergic to it), berries, whole milk (though she just started on string cheese, american cheese, and yogurt), chocolate, anything with a high sugar content, etc..... I'm trying to limit her wheat/cereal/flour/rice products since she seems to get constipated (tmi) from them.

We have already done watermelon, cantaloupe, and honeydew too. YUM!!

Oh, yeah. We haven't done citrus fruits yet. (Well, except for mango :o )

My son (nearly 6 mos) eats nearly everything we eat. I stay away from dairy becuase he had issues with it when I was eating it early on in our nursing relationship. Everything else aside from things like chocolate, HFCS, etc he has gotten. He has even gotten some peach dutchman (large sweet egg pancake) the other day for the kids birthday, so he really has had everything. We are trying to stick to sweet and salty tastes at the moment, but last night he had a few organic blueberries out of the yard mixed with some brown rice, and loved it! It will make his poop black (another tmi) but that is all... my kids have never had issues with berries.

His likes and dislikes are already very clear. He doesn't like mashed peas. Peas out of the garden he will eat (yes, my 5 3/4 mos old baby has two teeth with which to mash things up), but he hates me to cook them and then mash them. He doesn't like sweet potatoes (isn't that strage??? They were my and my sons FAVORITE first foods) or carrots. He is a huge fan of all fruit, watermelon being his favorite.

Anyway... it really just depends on you and your baby what they eat. I would feed my kids eggs and honey and berries before I would feed them cheese (cheese causes constipation)... but each baby and each situation is different. :) Enjoy testing new things!

my twins are 8 months (almost 6 months adjusted age) and they eat baby food ;) Veggies, fruits, etc. They LOVE oatmeal with pears & cinnamon! They also LOVE squash. We've tried everything prety much and the only things they dont like are peaches and those nasty meats.... ya know the "chicken in chicken gravy" things. Ohh sometihg they borth LOVE are those dinners.. chicken noodle dinner, etc. They gobble those right up! Seriously they down 4 oz of baby food in like 5 minutes!

We havent started table food yet, but they dont have teeth yet either. They are teething tho LOL All in good time ;)

W was 8 months old yesterday - and she will eat anything that isn't nailed down  Including static clingy stickers if left in her path - found that in a diaper one morning :D tmi I know.

We do stay away from dairy - as she has an allergy. But she LOVES blueberries - frozen or fresh. She loves those little dehydrated apples and bananas too. ANd she will eat chicken if I chew it some and give it to her.

Logan had a peice of roast to suck on the other night. He loved it! :) I didn't let him swallow any, but he did suck on it (a big peice he held in his hand and sucked on it) for about 20 minutes. I had to make him turn it over because I was sure he wasn't getting anything out of that side anymore. lol!

My 8 month old still seems to have the tongue thrust. We have tried to give her rice cereal and applesauce.

Isn't it amazing how different babies can be? Logan was demanding food at 3 1/2 mos... so was my oldest... but my middle one could have cared less until after 7 mos. lol! Even with the same genes, they are all just so different. :D

Sam really isnt into much...he sucked on a dill pickle spear the other day and thought it was divine - he will eat a little bit of aotmeal mixed with lactofree milk - and he gnawed on a pizza crust the other night -

He has had the little graduates carrots and peaches, and he likes them better than the purees- crushes them with his gums and spits some out, swallows the rest -

I am looking forward to the better pincher grasp and table foods!
