Hello ladies!

Quick question for you. I've just sewn (for the first time!) a small pocket diaper by following the Sew Darling pattern. I'm actually surprised at how I did...it looks like a functional pocket dipe! My question is that is looks too small. The pattern said that it should fit a 10-20lbs baby but it looks to me like it could only fit a newborn. I've put it up against a small Fuzzi Bunz and it looks smaller. Just wondering if this is typical of this pattern?
I'd rather use my beautiful fabric for a size that would be equivalent to a medium (15-30lbs) so that my babe to come can wear them longer. Maybe I should make the mediums and use those as smalls and make large to use as mediums?
I made the trial run diaper out of flannel with regular braided elastic...would using my PUL with my Stretchrite polybraid make a difference?

Thanks!!

I think the flannel and braided elastic would work well for figuring out sizing. Most PUL doesn't stretch much so the flannel would make an acceptable stand-in for sizing purposes, I think. I'm not familiar with that pattern, but it does sound like it runs small. Besides holding it up to compare it to the FuzziBunz, did you actually measure the legholes and waist size? With pocket dipes, I think it's best to measure the openings when trying to determine what size it will fit. Based on what you said, I would make some size Larges, expecting that they would fit more like Mediums. Even if they end up fitting like actual Larges, you'll use them later on.
