I am making a horse themed room for dd and I was thinking if I had some of this fabric and made a slipcover or pillow cover sort of thing for some thick foam, wouldn't it look like a haybale, sort of? Anyone make anything like this before? I am thinking if you all can make wedge pillows covered in minkee this should be no problem :lol:

yes it would. I know guys that make something very similar as "bundles" for French voyageur camps. Let me see if I remember what my friend said he did for his (which are so realistic you have to touch them to believe it)

It's not made with foam like from the fabric store but the solid insulation stuff from the hardware store. You wrap it like a package, with the little triangle parts at either end and sew that shut then wrap rope or twine around in an H shape. you can carve where the rope will be "digging into" the bale before wrapping to make it more realistic looking.
