I don't know if this is the right place to post this..
I'm looking for some prep/mixing bowls without harmful materials.
I use little to no plastic but are metal bowls safe? Or like LeCrueset?
I'm not sure where to find info. before I buy products.

from my understaning, stainless steel bowls and such are safe if you do not scour them or use them for acidic ingredients such as tomato sauce, etc. I have a few stainless bowls I use in different sizes, but my absolute favorite bowl is a large glass bowl I bought 17 years ago. I purchased it for the sole reason to boil water in my college microwave for mac and cheese. I love it because I can bake in it, store things in it, mix in it, soak in it. I love it!!!!! It is the one bowl I use more than anything else! So, I say get yourself a glass bowl!

I have those nesting glass bowls. I do use them. They just don't look real great and I wanted something, umm, prettier. Mine look odd. I didn't think there was a difference in glass but maybe there is?
I liked these but was worried about what they were made of:
Amazon.com: Typhoon Vintage Kitchen Mixing Bowls, Set of 3, Cream: Home & Garden (http://www.amazon.com/Typhoon-Vintage-Kitchen-Mixing-Bowls/dp/B0009XHDTO/ref=sr_1_22/002-6723086-9668018?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1184603766&sr=1-22)
or these:
Amazon.com: Le Creuset 7-1/2-Quart Large Stoneware Mixing Bowl with Ribbed Rim, Red: Home & Garden (http://www.amazon.com/Creuset-2-Quart-Stoneware-Mixing-Ribbed/dp/B000642FWG/ref=sr_1_65/002-6723086-9668018?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1184603875&sr=1-65)

i have a variety of bowls...glass, stainless and crock.
the one i grab the most is my mixing bowl from pampered chef, it has a handle and measurements but is kind of small when you cook in large amounts like i tend to do (lots of boy children here.)
i also have one i bought at target on clearance a while ago...it's bigger than my PC bowl and has no handle but is white crock...love love love it.

I use the Anchor glass bowls all the time-like these
Anchor Hocking Products (http://www.anchorhocking.com/products.asp)
and then they have these which I think I might get now

grr, my links aren't working. The bowls I have are the plain mixing bowls and the ones I want are the batter bowls (they have lids and handles)
