i need a place to share my recent money saving victories in order to stay excited to do more!!

we went to the children's museum of atlanta last weekend. packed food, but forgot forks and plates (and needed them for everything we brought in the cooler). it was pouring rain. so...rather than have a picnic in centennial olympic park as planned, we went into mcdonald's and got plastic ware, used the tops of the bowls as plates, and sat in the car in the rain and ate our food. it was sooo fun, really. we had a blast making that work rather than eat out.

i bought an air popcorn popper at goodwill for $3. we have been eating airpopped popcorn for dessert at night, and it has been healthier as well as saving lots of money. a big bag of popcorn kernels is cheap!

i asked for help and got some friends to do things for me to help get the house ready to sell for a much smaller amount of money than a professional would cost. and they were happy to make a little $$.

i am going to a girl's night out tomorrow. i WILL NOT get food at dinner. i WILL eat before i go, get a drink, and then go to the movie with my airpopped popcorn. :)

I needed a new food processor, mine finally DIED.after being resurrected a couple of times by my lovely dh...so we checked out 'points' on our Fly Buys card and got one for free this weekend. yay! We get the points from buying groceries and I think CC purchases.

Made dd a new reading folder out of my old jeans this past weekend. That was cool...honestly, she did not need a new one, but the one that the school supplies is vinyl, and I do not like vinyl. So now she has a denim one that she helped me decorate all from my stash. Way better IMO.
