Okay, brief history, we have homeschooled from the beginning (DS is going into "3rd", DD is going into "1st"). I have gone through a charter school that was, really, very 'hand's off' when it came to letting me do my own 'thing' and following the kids' interest.
I have decided (for various...read:irritating reasons) to HS the kids independently this year, registering with the state of CA as a private school.
I don't know why, but I am finding this VERY scary. The truth is, nothing will really "change" I guess, but, I don't have to meet with the teacher, turn in paperwork, (once a month), do a 'report card', an 'evaluations' (a few times yearly) and so on...
The drawback is that I won't have the funding we have had in the past (usually around 750.00 per student per year), but that benefit didn't outway some of my frustrations (obviously LOL). I'm really anxious about the lack of 'accountability', but looking forward to the 'freedom'.
I really feel like I'm starting over. Any words of wisdom?? LOL.
Oh, and here's something else that 'bothers' me. We fluctuate GREATLY in our style...some days we are oh so formal, and other days, totally relaaaxxxxed. Corbin does better 'unschooling', Olivia likes SCHOOL at HOME. I think I'm just going nuts. Tell me I'm okay??? Please ROFL.
