I so wish this was available a couple of years ago. Nathan and I just looked at it, and he said he wished he had it for last year rather than having to copy the work from his Rod and Staff book. I like that the workbook has the diagrams already formed, so the child is putting in the words. I think Adam is ready for this now. We're about done with FLL 2nd grade, so I am hoping we can jump in feet first here.
Another thing I love - the binding of the workbook. I like the perforated pages, and that it also has 3 hole punches. I can keep the workbook put up, then pull out the pages for Adam each day - then he can put them into a binder.
I wish the teacher's manual was spiral bound. That is one of the things I really like about OPGTR. I may take it (and the first FLL and the SOTW books) and get them all spiral bound.
Upon first inspection, the material looks like it will be challenging, but not overwhelming.
We are most likely starting our school year next week. I want to get the kids into a good routine. DH leaves August 15 for 2 months. He has some leave during November - so we will be taking some time off then, possibly even taking a short vacation at the beach. Then he leaves in December for 15 mos. Our school year is going to be pretty segmented... but really not much different than our last couple have been. We need to make sure we take time off when dh is here to spend with him. I also need to make sure that I am giving enough to the kids after he leaves - because it is going to be hard.
Anyway... I'll give a better review after we actually use it for a while.
