I have all of our 2st grade material sitting on a shelf in the storage room. I am soon to add 2nd grade material. I would like to kep the years separate for ease of finding things down the road. I am talking about teacher materials, wkbks we can use again, MUS, etc...not DSs actual work. What do you suggest for storing the material in? As in long term storage and it needs to stay "safe" during all of our moves.

Also, we have a gazillion books  I thought that I would take all of our 1st grade books down and keep them with my materials, 2nd grade books etc...so that when it comes time to use them later we still have them. With that said, some are so good that we do look at them over and over, thus reinforcing what was learned, but then others get passed by for these more familiar books. Do I still tuck them away and move on, or leave them all out.

(I have books for my toddler that I keep in a separate location from DSs books.)

TIA!

This isn't the safest, as it allows moisture, etc, but I have off-year books sorted in moving boxes in the garage.

What really made a huge, great, difference for me was attaching a clear page protector to the outside of each box where visible and making a list of what was inside each box on a sheet of notebook paper and sticking it in the page protector.

That way, say we have a sudden need to know about castles, which comes for us every fourth year. I can go right to the garage and get the book I need, no digging involved.

Or I have a child blow through 2 handwriting books in one year and need a third, when here I didn't even think to get that out in fall for that child. No problem.
