most specifically summer squash :D i am making stir fry with it wahoooooooo
waiting for the tomatoes to get red, the peppers to mature and the cucumbers just started flowering
a question - are the tomato plants supposed to get as tall as me???
oh and good news the herbs are still alive (i usually kill them in a weeks time). the basil, sage and thyme are going crazy in the window boxes. oregano (also in window box) is okay and the spearmint, lemon balm and lavender i planted in the yard is still living.
awesome :D If you eat fried stuff, my mama used to make somethign she called german fried vegetables. It was squash, onion, potatoes, bell pepper, okra, green tomatoes and occasionally zucchini or eggplant all diced up really small and cooked like okra with a cornmeal breading--- sooooo good!
Tomato plants, if you are fertilizing, you may be over fertilizing if they are that large. You need to stake them-- make sure the branches have lots of support or they will end up breaking.
Herbs, you know that the mints are invasive, right? Meaning that they will spread all over where you have them, so keep em away from your other herbs. Lack of water is what usually will kill a plant, or a container that is too small, so check both of those, and make sure they aren't getting too much sun and you should be golden :)

we havent fertilized the tomatoes at all, just planted them, put the cages around them and watered them.
i am HOPING the mints will take over thats one reason i planted them in the ground ~ to cover over certain areas and keep erosion down
thanks the fried veggies sound great!

Yep... my tomatoes always reach 5 ft or so. It means good nitrogen rich soil, but not too rich, because then you wouldn't have as many fruits. ;)
