DS has been promoted to 4th grade - barely! Over the summer I'm going to keep up with math 3x/week, and have him write in a journal twice per week. I don't have many ideas for prompts other than "What do you want to be when you grow up?" and things of that nature. Can anyone suggest some other open-ended questions? I want to keep him up on penmanship and longer answers, detailed answers.
DH said I could 'test the homeschool waters' so that's what I'm doing - I'm loving all the resources and am going to squeeze in weekly geography too ( :D ) but for now he's staying in public school. He's recently told me that he 'doesn't like learning', so I need to keep him interested and active all summer long. Thankfully MIL is a 4th grade teacher with strength in Sciences, she's going to help some too :)
TIA for any suggestions!
