I picked these late yesterday evening. I will be roasting them for dinner tonight.

The green beans are Empress Green Beans & the squash is called Summer Crookneck. They are both from SeedSavers.org.

Looks like tonight I will be able to pick a few cukes & some Rattlesnake beans.

Also the Cherry Roma tomatoes have produced quite a few little green strawberry shaped tomatoes in the past few days. I can't wait to try those. No heirloom (Black From Tula) tomatoes on the vines yet, but lots of blossoms.

Oh I wanted to add that I always pick my first round of squash when they are still small because it is supposed to make the plant produce more & longer. I'm not sure if its true, but I normally have good luck & lots of squash.

I'm in central Florida. I started the transplants in Feb. and planted outside in early March. By July 4th it will be too hot for anything to grow here.

But, at least you have some great food during the colder months....

ok that makes sense then. our last frost isn't until around mid-april...and we can grow those things all summer so that makes sense.

wow.

That is sooo awesome! Great work. Our lettuce is slowly coming up here in northern Vermont on the Canadian border.

Warm wishes,

That is awesome! Congratulations! Looks good too! ;)

I garden here (pacific NW) all year round, but our last frost date is April 15th. So the things that I am putting in now are tomatoes, basil, squash, summer savory, sunflowers, etc. But I have been harvesting cilantro, lettuce, and spinich since Jan. :)
