I have all of the kids' books on two bookshelves. Each bookshelf has 4 shelves.

One bookshelf has:

math on one shelf - and on that shelf I have all of the math u see blocks, the DVDs and a basket that holds all of the books.

On another shelf I have all of the books for Sea and Sky (Austin and Nate)

Another shelf has the books from Animal Worlds

the bottom shelf has a basket that holds misc. workbooks

The other shelf has:
games - we have a collection of games in book shaped boxes on one shelf

Two shelves hold 'my' books, references, extras we aren't using right now, and some book collections.

The bottom shelf on that bookshelf is devoted to reading books of all levels. I have a collection of readers that the kids can choose. There are **** and Jane books (Lauren), An I Can Read level 2 books (Adam), some chapter books (Nate and Austin).

I have small baskets that have homes on the bookshelves - they hold pencils, crayons, colored pencils, markers, scissors, glue, etc. Those go in the middle of the table when the kids are working at the table. They are easy to put away... which makes putting them away SO easy. :)

I also have a large whiteboard. I got a 4x8 sheet of bathtub surround board from Lowe's - and attached it to the wall with some framing. I ended up cutting it down to 4x4... but it's NICE! Once we move, we will be doing it again, but putting up the entire 4x8 board. One of the baskets mentioned above holds some dry erase markers. The kids love to write out math problems on it, and I like to be able to write notes up there for them to see.

In the past, I have also used the 9 hole cubbies from Target. Especially when they were littler and didn't have so many books for school work.

we just moved, so I'm having fun reorganizing everything. I have two medium sized bookcases in our breakfast room, where we eat and do our table work. In the bookcases are stuff we use daily: math manipulatives, MUS stuff, WinterPromise books, grammar workbook, ETC workbook. I also have a basket full of readers/chapterbooks. Also, clay/playdoh, paper and drawing stuff. Both boys spend a lot of time at the table throughout the day drawing, coloring, sculpting, etc. Right by the bookcases is a closet that is supposed to be a pantry, but I'm using for all our art/craft supplies. It feels so indulgant to have a whole closet just for that :D

In our "library" (just a small room w/ lots of bookcases and 2 comfy chairs, floor pillows, etc.), I have a bookcase dedicated to my planning stuff, resource books, etc. Most of the kids books are in that room too.

As soon as I have more of the empty boxes and misc. clutter taken care of, I'll take pictures :)

No room in my cracker box house for a dedicated school room, lol, so my stuff is spread out (but neat and organized!). I have a beautiful secretary in my room that holds all the paper/craft stuff/manipulatives/misc stuff neatly and out of view :) We keep most of our workbooks and such in a very nice hand-painted crate in the living room. We have a portable table I keep a felt board and most of MY books on (SOTW, MOH, science stuff, etc) as well as the kids' notebooks. Then underneath my 2 end tables on either side of the sofa, I have go-along books (one side is reference books, the other is regular books). Downstairs I have my bookshelves with stuff I'm not currently using (but plan to). It's taken awhile to get it to the point where it's organized, works for us and doesn't get too "cluttery" and out of control.

My homeschool room (http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=15543496&uid=4505067&members=1)

I have three floor to ceiling bookshelves. I keep the organized the following way:

2 shelves are old curriculum
1 shelf reference material
3 shelves books that have been read (these are alphabetized)
1 shelf library books
2 shelves office supplies
2 shelves art supplies
1 shelf mom books (teacher manuals, catalogs, etc)
1 shelf math manipulatives
1 shelf for young dd's current hs books
1 shelf oldest dd's current hs book

Another bookshelf is completely devoted to my dh's geek things ;)

My kids have outgrown the playstand so I use this for games and puzzles.

Old thread, but still fun!

We just are moving down stairs for the summer, to the Sun Room which is inexpensive to air-condition. Most of Annabelle's toys are in there, and we have a Lazy-Boy couch and the TV. I just added a book shelf in there to put all the suggested books from AO for years 0-1. I'll see if I can post some photos later on :D

We have a child's schooldesk and a computer desk, plus a tall bookshelf in the play room with every toy we own. There are more books in the spare bedroom, and on shelves and in a drawer in the boys' bedroom. Mostly it is like this:
Joshua's workbooks and notebooks in the schooldesk
Shared books and instructor guides on the computer desk or high shelf on the bookshelf
Free reading books on the lower shelves, with a special section for each boy.

How do I organize my homeschooling things?

Badly.

;) I have an armoire that holds art and craft supplies - we'd need that with or without homeschooling. Games, manipulatives, science equipment, HWOT stuff are all in 2 large cabinets. Workbooks are in a little 3 drawer thingy from Ikea (one drawer for each kid, though 2 of them don't use workbooks much). Reference books are on a shelf in the front hall, and then there are 4 more bookshelves in the dining room. The bottom half of each holds kids' books. Ummm... the schoolbus is in the driveway. The classroom pets are wandering around. And the media center is in need of repair.
